Dear Members & Friends,

Please be informed that there has been a further clarification from the officials regarding the recent announcement from the State Emergency Commission in dealing with the outbreak of the new Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2.

There has been some concerns among our members in relation to the new announcement and its implication to the expat community and foreigners with permanent residency in Mongolia.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Consular Department the restriction does not apply to Mongolian nationals and foreign nationals with permanent residence in Mongolia. Entry requirements to Mongolia:

• take Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior your travel,
• be quarantined for 10 days upon arrival at the Government designated facilities,
• take Covid-19 PCR tests on the 3rd and 6th day after arrival.
(Note: children aged 4 or under do not have to take any Covid-19 tests but will be quarantined at designated facilities.)

Entry requirements for Mongolian citizens and foreign nationals arriving from other countries:
• take Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior your travel,
• present Covid-19 vaccine certificate,
• take Covid-19 test upon on arrival at the airport,
• unvaccinated persons arriving from other countries allowed to enter but must present a negative PCR/NAAT test

(Note: children aged 4 or under do not have to take any Covid-19 tests)
