AustCham Mongolia’s June Professional Speakers Series event proudly sponsored by Austrade

Today, we have successfully hosted our June Professional Speakers Series (PSS) event in cooperation with Austrade where our guest speakers gave an overview and introduction of local operations: Critical Minerals and Agriculture focus.
To give a brief background, new economy minerals (sometimes referred to as critical minerals) are a range of metals and minerals used in many emerging technologies including electric vehicles, renewable energy products, low-emission power sources, consumer devices, and products for the medical, defense and scientific research sectors.
The world is rapidly embracing these emerging technologies, leading to an increase in demand for new economy minerals. The demand can exceed existing global resource production, so as manufacturers and industries to seek secure predictable supplies into the future, trading prices are increased, creating a ‘new economy’ for the metal or minerals.
In order to develop new economy minerals projects, the government is investing in exploration activities to improve scientific understanding and supply the valuable geo-science data needed by industry to help locate and define deposits for future production.
We would like to thank our partners at Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Julie Quinn, the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner to Korea and Mongolia and Ron Green, the Trade Commissioner & Counselor (Commercial) to Korea and Mongolia for visiting Mongolia and providing their insights on this subject to our members.
Thanks again to Austrade for being our ‘Silver’ sponsor, and making this event possible.
