Australian Chamber of Commerce Mongolia
Australian Chamber of Commerce Mongolia (AustCham Mongolia) is a non- governmental organization as contemplated by the NGO law of Mongolia. Since 2013, AustCham has promoted the interests of Australian and Mongolian business in the region which it pursues through business-to-government relations with the support of the Australian Embassy, Austrade, leading institutions, professionals and "thought leaders."
We currently have 60 Corporate Plus, Corporate, Company and SME members operating mostly in Mongolia. AustCham Mongolia also has close ties with Mongolian's who have studied in Australia and are affectionately known as "Mozzies." Many Mozzies are now important business and political leaders in the country. The Chamber uses its ability to provide high-level interaction through advocacy providing long term economic and social contributions we make to Mongolia and its people.
Through these opportunities, we develop knowledge and skill to advance and capacity- build the nation. Examples are found within the areas of trade and investment, business, government, banking, finance, sporting, cultural and education such as through the Australian Institute of International Directors course we ran earlier in 2019.
The Board
A Board consisting of up to eleven Directors is elected by the Members at the Chamber's Annual General Meeting held each February by majority vote. Directors are elected for a period of one year.
A representative of the Australian Embassy in Mongolia is also appointed to the Board as an Ex-Officio member and to act as an embassy liaison officer.
The Board's Executive Committee and the Chamber's Management Team and staff are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Chamber.
Business
AustCham Mongolia focuses on Australian businesses in Mongolia as well as Mongolian businesses with an interest in Australia.
Australia is a nation that prides itself on being inclusive and welcoming. AustCham Mongolia embraces these values so membership is open to any businesses or individuals with an interest in Australia-Mongolia commerce.
Connect
AustCham Mongolia connects its members with potential business partners, clients and supporting parties through introductory sefvices as well as information and networking events throughout the year at which members are encouraged to promote their business and interests.
Community
AustCham Mongolia acts as a focal point for the Australian (and broader) expatriate community in Mongolia and an important bridge into the Mongolian community with a range of charitable programs in Mongolia. AustCham represents our members through various non-political advocacy efforts on an ongoing basis.
News & Marketing
AustCham publishes daily news and quarterly newsletters that provide our members with updates on Mongolian business environment, topical matters, and achievements of our member companies. Our email distribution list, webpage, social media postings and public events provide business with a fantastic opportunity to increase the brand awareness of our member companies.
