AustCham Mongolia has commissioned a comprehensive research study on the Mongolian copper royalty tax, examining its impact on mining projects. The study includes a comparative analysis with other countries and a numerical evaluation of the potential effects of lowering the copper royalty on the country’s budget.
This research was conducted by PwC Mongolia LLC, an independent consulting firm. It provides detailed insights into how tariffs, particularly on copper products, affect the economic efficiency of copper projects.
Today, AustCham hosted a VIP professional speaker series event to present this research to key stakeholders and organizations involved in copper mining, production, and sales.
Enkhzul J., a senior tax specialist with PwC Mongolia LLC and an AustCham Mongolia board member, presented the research findings.
Participants actively discussed relevant factors and the implications of the research findings, and they networked at the conclusion of the event.
